Comfort-focused root canal treatment in Hyderabad.
Root canal treatment (RCT) is done to save a badly infected or painful tooth. At SONRISA DENTAL, we use modern anaesthesia, careful technique and magnification to make the procedure as comfortable and predictable as possible — with honest expectations, not exaggerated promises.
Many patients who fear RCT are surprised by how manageable it can feel when they are properly numbed, informed and supported throughout the procedure.

When do you need a root canal?
Root canal treatment may be recommended if you have:
- Tooth pain that lingers after hot or cold food.
- Spontaneous pain, especially at night.
- Pain on biting or chewing.
- Swelling or a small “pimple” on the gum near the tooth.
- A deep cavity or crack reaching the nerve.
- Previously treated tooth with reinfection.
The goal of RCT is to remove infected tissue from inside the tooth, clean and seal it, then protect it with a suitable restoration (often a crown).
How a root canal is done.
- Local anaesthesia to numb the area.
- Access opening to reach the inner canals of the tooth.
- Cleaning and shaping with fine instruments.
- Irrigation with disinfecting solutions.
- Filling the canals with a sealing material.
- Placing a filling or planning a crown for protection.
Where appropriate, magnification and modern endodontic systems are used to improve cleaning and sealing, especially in complex teeth.
How many sittings will I need?
The number of sittings depends on:
- Whether there is active infection or swelling.
- The anatomy of the tooth (single-rooted vs multi-rooted).
- Your general health and comfort.
Some straightforward cases can be completed in a single sitting. Others may need two or more visits for thorough cleaning. We will discuss your specific plan before starting.
What discomfort should you expect?
With proper anaesthesia, you should mainly feel pressure and vibration, not sharp pain. Some soreness or mild pain after the procedure is normal as tissues heal.
- We use painless-focused techniques to reduce discomfort.
- We encourage you to raise your hand if you feel pain so we can pause and adjust.
- Pain medicines may be prescribed for the first 1–2 days depending on your case.
RCT planning for NRI & international patients.
If you are travelling from abroad or another city, we try to cluster appointments sensibly.
- Short planning for how many visits are likely needed.
- Coordination with your stay duration – see Dental Tourism.
- Written notes outlining what was done and what follow-up is needed.
