SONRISA DENTAL

Veneers

Porcelain & composite veneers in Hyderabad.

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells placed on the front surface of teeth to improve shape, colour and proportion. At SONRISA DENTAL, veneers are planned conservatively — with minimal reshaping of teeth and a clear discussion of long-term care.

Veneers are not for everyone. In many cases, orthodontics, whitening or minor bonding may be safer and more sustainable. We walk you through each option calmly before you decide.

Types

Porcelain vs composite veneers.

Porcelain veneers

Laboratory-made shells that are bonded to the front surface of teeth.

  • Excellent colour stability over time.
  • Very natural translucency and shine.
  • Usually require 2–3 visits (planning, trial, final cementation).

Composite veneers / bonding

Tooth-coloured material shaped directly on the teeth in a single visit in many cases.

  • Often more conservative to tooth structure.
  • More affordable than porcelain in many cases.
  • May need polishing or touch-ups over time.

As part of your consultation, we will explain which option suits your case, lifestyle and maintenance preferences best.

When veneers help

Who can benefit from veneers?

  • Teeth with localised discoloration or internal stains.
  • Small gaps between teeth (in selected cases).
  • Minor shape irregularities or chipped edges.
  • Worn front teeth that need both strength and aesthetics.

In many cases, veneers are part of a broader cosmetic dentistry or full mouth rehabilitation plan.

When veneers are not ideal

Situations where we may advise alternatives.

  • Severely crowded teeth better corrected with aligners or braces.
  • Very poor gum health that needs treatment first.
  • Heavy grinding or clenching without protective planning.

We clearly explain when veneers are not in your long-term interest and suggest safer options instead.

Planning

How your veneer case is planned.

  • Consultation – photos, concerns and expectations.
  • Clinical exam – enamel, bite, existing fillings, gum health.
  • Impressions / scans for mock-ups in selected cases.
  • Discussion of material choice and shade.
Visits

How many appointments will I need?

  • Composite bonding – often 1–2 visits.
  • Porcelain veneers – typically 2–3 visits (preparation, trial, final cementation).

We plan appointments realistically, especially for patients visiting from abroad, as outlined in our Dental Tourism information.

Dental tourism

Veneers for NRI & overseas patients.

Many international patients prefer to complete veneer and cosmetic work during visits to Hyderabad. At SONRISA DENTAL, we:

  • Cluster appointments to fit into your stay duration where safely possible.
  • Coordinate with accommodation options highlighted in our Accommodation Support section.
  • Provide written records for your reference back home.
FAQ

Veneers – common questions.

Do veneers damage my natural teeth?
Veneers usually require some reshaping of enamel, especially porcelain veneers. Our approach is to remove as little tooth as possible and to offer alternatives if extensive reduction would be needed.
How long do veneers last?
With good care, porcelain veneers can last many years, but they are not lifetime devices. Composite veneers generally need more frequent maintenance or replacement. We explain expected longevity before treatment begins.
Will veneers look artificial?
When designed properly, veneers should blend with your face, lips and gums rather than stand out. We avoid over-whitening or unnatural shapes that do not match your features.
Can I whiten my teeth instead of veneers?
In many mild-to-moderate discolouration cases, teeth whitening alone may be enough. We always consider simpler options before recommending veneers.
